'Whole Lotta Lockdown!'

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, restoration work has been put on pause for the time being. So what would have been a week of snag slaying has become a week of watching Netflix and old reruns of Would I Lie To You. In other circumstances, this would have been welcomed.

Difficult to sit back and see a halt to the progress that has been made so far. The nearside had but a few more areas to tackle and methodical stripping of the small but many inter rib carvings had begun in earnest. I had hoped to be looking at stripping the front by the end of this week and uploading some more pictures to the gallery. But sense and safety dictates.

The Silence of the Radio

Under lockdown conditions, with its ghostly cities, towns and villages, the barn too, takes on an eerie aura . With tools downed and the silence of the radio, the emptiness echoes. A temporary halt to the restoration work and hopefully not for too long, gives me an opportunity to pick up on the research side of the waggon's past. So keep an eye out for website updates! It's also a chance to reconnect with my love of art and oil painting. We are indeed living in unprecedented times right now, so stay at home and keep safe.

That last video looked like hard work. But I bet was satisfying when that last lot came off in chunks. Look forward to seeing more.
