INTERIOR, FIRE PLACE & BED AREA
MAIN BODY INTERIOR
During the winter months and early spring when the weather is not so kind for painting, time is usually spent on structural work.
With this in mind, I started 2024 inside the waggon building up the bed area and replacing the O/S locker seat. However, I continued into the summer painting inside, tackling the ceiling, the shelves, the chest of drawers and the corner cupboard

Defining the fire place area I marked out in green paint where it would be before - may not need to write anything.

BED AREA
I hadn't intended to do this, time being a factor, but as the winter months took hold and painting was out of the question, I decided to build up the bed area to make it more practical and give a bit more storage space. It adds a decorative touch too. The Westlake's had had the end area in a bunk formation with ledges either side to hold the 2 beds in place. Using these ledges as guides I built up more solid platforms for the mattresses and made some bed boards for the front to hold them in place. The bottom bunk now is like a little cubby that can be shut off with a set of curtains - very cosy!
