'Ain't No Scaffold High Enough!'

The Scaff is down, leaving the waggon visible once more. The sturdy platform did its job perfectly, becoming my home throughout the lockdown months as the roof was stripped, repaired, sanded, prepped, primed, glossed, canvassed and glossed again and again (7 coats in all). Trims were attached to the sides and new weatherboards fitted front and back, primed and undercoated to complete the work on the roof. It was nice to have a perch for these jobs but what joy to see the waggon without its scaffold overcoat.

Following its last coat of gloss, Atom Scaffold came the very next morning and with polite efficiency removed the various planks and poles to slowly reveal the waggon and the new roof work that had been undertaken over the past months.

Back to the main body now, more repairs to do still before it'll be fully primed, but hopeful that the painting stage is not a million miles away and colours can soon be picked and ordered.

Wheel Gone Our Kid

A short breather before I take the wheels off on the rear, they are the next big job. Fortunately the stock and spokes look good, so, if luck holds out, only a few new fellies will make these rather large wheels functional again and ready to paint. The front wheels were repaired just after purchase of the waggon as they were in pretty bad condition, with the o/s one totally collapsed and a whole new wheel was required. The n/s wheel needed a few spokes and fellies. Now, to source a large agricultural wrench to remove the abnormally large nuts holding the wheels on !
