Baby steps, as restrictions were lifted in Wales regarding two households able to become an extended one. With this in mind, I drafted in my nephew to help me dispose of the roof felt amassed during it’s removal and now sitting in a pile on the floor. 2 trips to our local recycle center did the job.

Happy to help with the waggon, I enlisted both my nephews to assist with the never ending sanding. Although not allowed to climb the shacking scaff, there was plenty for them to do. Due to their height, the ceiling they could manage without the aid of the footstool I’d been carrying around to strip it.
The Sand Wagon
Their helping hand once a week made a big difference, and not only has the waggon body come along nicely, but the shutters also have been stripped and sanded. They helped with the removal of the side windows, stamping them and bagging & labeling their fittings. A unique opportunity to be involved with its restoration, they are both keen to see the paint go on and the finished article.
The waggon body now is around 90% stripped and 85% sanded. Next big job is the roof and putting a new canvas skin on, for which I’ll be putting a small team together. Using an extremely large length of canvas, overlapping all roof edges, we’ll only have one go at it.
